We are looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer who enjoys building scalable software products and wants to help shape the future of legal technology alongside an ambitious and highly skilled team.
What will you do?
As a Ruby on Rails Developer, you will play a key role in the continued development of LegalMike. You will work on scalable backend architecture, develop new features, and improve the reliability and performance of our platform.
You will collaborate closely with developers, AI engineers, designers, and legal experts, contributing directly to the evolution of our AI-powered product.
In this role, you will:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable Ruby on Rails applications;
- Develop new features and functionality across backend and frontend systems;
- Work closely with AI engineers on AI integrations, prompt engineering, and AI-driven product improvements;
- Improve application performance, reliability, and scalability in production environments;
- Contribute to technical architecture, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
Who are you?
You are a driven software engineer with significant experience building production-grade applications and solving real customer problems. You are analytical, pragmatic, and enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Ruby on Rails Developer;
- Strong Ruby and Rails skills, including experience with RESTful APIs and background job processing;
- Experience with PostgreSQL and relational database design;
- Ability to contribute to architectural and technical decisions;
- A product-focused mindset, balancing performance, scalability, and reliability;
- Strong communication skills in English, our team language.
Nice to have
Experience with any of the following is considered a strong advantage:
- Experience working in legal, compliance, or other regulated domains;
- Experience integrating AI or LLM-based functionality into applications;
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools;
- Experience with frontend technologies such as Hotwire, Stimulus, React, or Vue.js.
